A Little Inspiration & Perspiration

A Successful 2011 Kili Climb!

In March of this year, eleven climbers from around the world assembled to begin a journey that would take them on an emotional and physical rollercoaster they would never forget. Water Climb 2011 was a resounding success and as a result over 10,000 people will receive clean water for life through Water School programs.

Beginning with project visits in a Nairobi slum, the climbers saw Water School’s work firsthand. Many climbers said that this stark look at the realities of life in the developing world provided motivation and inspiration for the climb ahead. The climbers set off with a well-founded sense of excited apprehension as the mountain pushed and challenged everyone on the ascent.

During the climb, the team bonded with support, laughter, and encouragement that resulted in a successful summit day for all. The climb finished in the best way possible with big, tired, wet, smiles, celebrating achievement and clean water at the base of mountain. The climb undoubtedly forever changed the way each climber values the work Water School does and the importance of clean water.

Thank you to the climbers and all those who supported them!

  1. SO proud of you, my little bro, who was involved with this – an amazing experience, yes, but also a stressful and traumatic one, and everyone who was on it has my full admiration – I know I, personally, couldn’t have done it. WELL DONE!
